Congrats to Abbeville high’s JOSEPH THEALL and JASON ALVAREZ for becoming Regional champs in their weight classes!
THEALL has been working hard to accomplish this goal since he was in 7th grade and he completely dominated the competition. He is an extremely hard worker and has his sites set on the 181 State Championship. He also has several team and State records on his radar. ALVAREZ trusted the process and went out and lifted weights that he didn’t know he was capable of lifting to win the 148 Regional Championship. He has his sites set on the 148 State title.
Congrats to LUIS CRUIZ for placing 4th in a stacked weight class and LATHANIEL TIZENO, DEVERON TURNER, KASEN BENOIT, XAVIER LEVINE, JONATHAN MATTHEWS for going 8/9 or better in their first ever meet! Also, props to KP GABRIEL for having a solid showing as well. COACH KIPP did a phenomenal job directing the West Regional Powerlifting Meet and made Abbeville High School a proud host! Thank you to all the teachers and parents that volunteered.
